Buying Electrical Enclosures from Türkiye: A Distributor Checklist

Compare ABS, transparent-cover, modular, polyester and junction enclosures from Türkiye by size, material, IP rating and packing.

01

Define the enclosure before comparing suppliers

External dimensions alone are not enough. State the required material, opaque or transparent cover, mounting plate, door or lid type, gasket, locking method and declared ingress protection. If equipment must fit inside, confirm usable internal dimensions and mounting depth.

FRAME separates opaque ABS boards, transparent ABS boards, modular terminal boxes, polyester boards and thermoplastic junction boxes. This gives purchasing teams a clearer starting point than a single mixed enclosure list.

02

Match material to the environment

ABS enclosures are practical for many indoor and protected industrial applications, with relatively low weight and clean moulded surfaces. Transparent covers support visual inspection. Glass-fibre reinforced polyester is selected where mechanical, corrosion and outdoor-performance requirements justify a different material system.

Material choice does not replace verification of UV exposure, temperature, impact, chemical contact or project approvals. Ask for the current technical declaration for the quoted reference and environment.

03

Read IP ratings as two separate protections

Under IEC 60529, the first characteristic numeral relates to access and solid foreign objects; the second relates to water ingress. A higher number is not automatically necessary for every installation, and the declared rating applies to the tested enclosure configuration.

Cable entries, glands, vents, machining and incorrect closing can reduce system protection. Procurement should therefore specify the finished installation requirement, not only the empty enclosure label.

  • Confirm the exact IP code
  • Use compatible cable entries and glands
  • Maintain gasket and lid compression
  • Review modifications before machining
04

Compare packing and landed handling

Large enclosures can be light but volume-intensive. Record pieces per carton, carton or unit CBM, gross weight and whether mounting plates or accessories are packed inside. Transparent covers may require additional surface protection.

FRAME product pages include dimensions, material and available packaging data. Use exact product links in the RFQ so the supplier and buyer discuss the same cover and size.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers for purchasing teams

What should an enclosure RFQ include?

Include dimensions, material, cover type, mounting arrangement, IP requirement, quantity, destination and any required tests or declarations.

Does machining preserve the original IP rating?

Not automatically. Openings, glands, vents and assembly must be designed and installed to maintain the required protection.
